Architect Of An Actual Torture Regime

Greenwald posts about John Yoo over at his blog at Salon, asking whether Yoo was a Spearhead or Scapegoat. He mentions that the question arises exactly what did he do that would justify firing him from Berkeley Law School? He says:

Some of those commentators argue -- persuasively -- that mere citation to "academic freedom" does not resolve the question, since Yoo is charged not merely with advocating repellent ideas (something that should never result in dismissal), but far beyond that, was acting as an architect of an actual torture regime. --John Yoo: Spearhead or scapegoat?
That sounds about right to me. Quite an accomplishment.
