Baghdad Death Map

Often times people in adverse situations make bad jokes, jokes that we dont find funny at all.

From Iraq comes one of those emails you send to your friends for a laugh. This one tries to provide a helpful map for everyone to use to understand the level of safety for different neighborhoods.

  • A safe area: where the probability of you staying alive is 50%.

  • A relatively safe area: where the probability of you staying alive is 40%.

  • A relatively dangerous area: where the probability of you staying alive is 30%.

  • A dangerous area: where the probability of you staying alive is 20 to 10%.

Its funny because its true -- Homer

And this is with 30,000+ U.S. Troops in the city. There is a report going around from the spinmeisters that Iraqi Civilian Deaths are down. But its only for June and May was one of the highest months ever, and Moqtada Al Sadr has decided to go ahead with his march to Samarra so July should start with a bang.
